HAMMOND MARINA YOUTH SAILING EVENT
For three weekends in
July the Hammond Marina and the Illiana Yacht Club will hold
youth sailing at Wolf Lake. The event will be
scheduled for three Saturday's, July 11th, 18th and the 25th
at the 122nd and Calumet Avenue beach location. The
sailing will start at 10:00 a.m. and run until 2:00 p.m.
This event is open to
all interested in learning to sail a small sailboat.
The program uses a "pram" single sail boat which supports
two small children or a single youth.
All participants must
be accompanied by an adult or guardian 18 years old or
older. The cost for the 2-hour lesson (1/2 hour of
instruction and 1 1/2 hours of sailing) is $15.00.
Instructors and safety equipment is included.
