Wolf Lake Memorial Park Update

The entrance to Wolf Lake Memorial Park at Sheffield Avenue (Boat Launch Ramp Entrance) is open Monday – Friday from 7am to 3pm weather permitting. Parking for ice fisherman is allowed with permission from the contractor on site. Construction continues in and around the parking lot and fishing pier area and parkland.

A new pavilion/outdoor stage designed by the architectural firm of Carras, Szany & Kuhn of Schererville, Indiana is being constructed. The general contractor is Gough Construction of Merrillville, Indiana and construction over-site duties are being performed by Short Elliot Hendrickson of Munster, Indiana.

Within the next two weeks the site will have a watchman stationed at the entrance from the last light of the day to first light in the morning. This will add to the safety and security of the construction zone.

DIRECTIONS TO WOLF LAKE MEMORIAL PARK

From Chicago - take Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) south to the Indiana Toll road (Chicago Skyway I-90) south. Stay in the local lanes, because the exit is a 63rd St. Take the skyway approximately 8 miles to the Indianapolis/106th Street exit. Exit and go straight ahead about 1 mile to the Calumet Avenue. Turn right and go approximately 3 miles to Wolf Lake

From Western Suburbs - Take I-80 east toward Indiana. Just past the Illinois/Indiana border is the Calumet Avenue exit. Take Calumet Avenue North. Go approximately 6 miles to the entrance of Wolf Lake.

From the East - Take I-90 west to Calumet Avenue. Go north on Calumet Avenue approximately 2 miles to the Wolf Lake Entrance.
